May is Lyme Awareness month and CALS is holding this public education event to help people learn best practices to protect themselves and their families from Lyme and other Tick Borne Diseases (TBDs). We will go through a presentation about tick habitat, tick facts, and strategies to lower your risks of TBDs while enjoying your favourite outdoor activities.
Also learn the Lyme basics and what the onset of Lyme disease looks like, what are the other diseases that ticks carry? Lyme is the great mimicker it can be mistaken for many other illnesses, we will talk about these other infections. Also, find out what the problems facing people with Lyme in Central Alberta and Canada are. Join us Sunday at the Red Deer Museum where we will be doing public education event for May Lyme Awareness Month from 2-4 pm
